Renee,
I was thinking of that earlier, how people used to get spanked at school. Not sure what they do now.

Good luck to you and your daughter with early ed, and I'm not sure about the sock thing. No one in this house wears tube socks!

Very witty blog. I remember getting my butt spanked in first grade, by Miss Crouch, who I then nicknamed Miss GROUCH, at least I think I was the one to think of it. Also got in trouble for talking to some boy, who I barely remember, during "nap time". Who wants to sleep at school anyways LOL...ah the memories. In the morning by 4-year-old starts early education. So excited and nervous. Love the blog, always! PS- Not sure what they want the sock for, must be a handpuppet? I would go for a long tube sock. LoL..

Great post. I have a tragic spelling bee story myself, but no worries I'm not sharing it. I think at sometime along the way, past mid life crisis, most men finally stop reliving their prior accomplishments. I still see friends my age that want to talk about the past but you nailed it. The past is over, the lessons have been learned and the future is much more interesting to talk about. If you ever watched the Sopranos there was a good episode that delved into this subject. Thanks. This was one those posts that gets the reader thinking. Great thoughts.

I don't know how old you are Solitary Mama, but I think the older we get, the more we think. I am speaking of women here. Men somehow just know that the majority of moms are good moms and they don't need to worry if they aren't involved because we will take care of that child no matter what. We love em, take care of em, keep em safe..That's natural. We are moms... I also liked your older posts about rural areas! Anything different to a rural bumpkin gives them an excuse to ask!! Another point you make is right too...Restaurants in rural areas are terrible!!!

Great thoughts. I was on the opposite end and I always paid my support and then received full custody when my kids were 12. Sometimes I wonder if it was the right decision. My kids still saw their mother but to keep everything going I always worked two jobs. Anyway, that is always why I respect women that raise their kids solo and don't get any support. It is wrong that men don't handle their responsiblities and until they are dealt with it will continue.
